Dear Colleague,
NAHQ has been working hard to prepare its members and our community of healthcare quality professionals to succeed in the rapidly changing healthcare environment. The opportunity for quality to lead as a strategic force in the transition to value and all that accompanies it, is immense. And it is right in front of us.
With our members and all healthcare quality professionals in mind, we are pursuing a number of initiatives that will both build your knowledge and skills, and very importantly, position your tremendous value to the healthcare marketplace so you can continue to grow your careers, and so together we can advance our profession.
To that end, this fall NAHQ hosted a roundtable discussion with The Accountable Care Learning Collaborative (ACLC) with the intention of gathering insight into the leading quality practices being pursued by healthcare organizations. The roundtable table resulted in this white paper that solidifies our position on the critical role of quality and provides a call-to-action for healthcare organizations to pursue quality as a business strategy employing quality competencies and integrating the quality workforce. This is a powerful message that we will carry out into the marketplace on behalf of our members.
Building on the call-to-action, we will be introducing www.qualitydrivenhealthcare.org as part of the NAHQ website. The notion of having an advocacy platform is very common for national organizations like NAHQ as it will extend our reach as a healthcare quality leader to new audiences by sharing market insights and thought leadership that position the importance of healthcare quality professionals.
It is very important that NAHQ maintains a strong presence in the healthcare marketplace to help our healthcare quality professionals build their brand and to pave the way for our products and services as an organization. This is not a shift away from www.nahq.org, but a supplement to it, bringing more stakeholders in through non-traditional channels. It is an exciting time for healthcare with lots of opportunity for our professionals and we need to be viewed as a leader.
